CHARLES (BUDDY) LESTER SOUDERS, 80, of Hagerstown, Maryland, passed away Saturday, June 20, 2015 at his home. Born July 26, 1934, in Berkeley Springs, WV, he was the son of the late Virginia Stotler Souders. He retired from Garden State Tannery. Buddy was a member of Grace United Methodist Church for 50 years. He was also a member of the Moose Lodge and Williamsport Red Men, Conococheague Tribe #84. Buddy loved the outdoors and watching his grandchildren play baseball, fishing and spending time with the family. He is survived by his wife, Marlene Souders of 60 years; one daughter, Joni Bartles and husband, Clyde of Hagerstown; one son, Charles Richard (Rick) Souders of Hagerstown; two daughters-in-law, Cathy Souders of Hagerstown and Lucille Souders of Maugansville; one brother, Lester Souders and wife, Doris of Hancock, MD; six grandchildren, Steven Souders and wife, Julie, Fawnia Anthony and husband, Scott, David Baker and Fianc, Molly, Jamie Crabtree, Jason Souders and Cory Baker; two step-grandchildren, Jacquelyn Bartles and Brooklyn Bartles; six great grandchildren, Tyler, Trinity, Conner, Caden, Brittany and Katie and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sons, Michael Souders and Randy Souders; a sister, Genevieve Case and a brother, Ray Souders. Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Curtis Ehrgott will officiate. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery in Cascade, MD. The family will receive friends on Wednesday at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m.
