Charles Robert Roelke, Jr., 87, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away on October 13, 2024, at Meritus Medical Center.

Born July 17, 1937 in Halfway, MD, he was the son of the late Charles Robert Roelke, Sr. and Alice Miller (Baker) Roelke.

Charles was a 1955 graduate of Hagerstown High School. He attended Hagerstown Junior College. He worked for Potomac Edison and eventually retired from West Penn Power.

He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, and spending time outdoors.

He was a lifelong member of the United Church of Christ.

Charles is survived by his wife of 62 years, Evelyn (Ebersole) Roelke; his son, Charles Roelke III; and his brother-in-law, niece, and two nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son and a sister, Elizabeth Mougey.

A graveside service will be held at 10am on Thursday, October 17, 2024, at Rose Hill Cemetery, 600 S. Potomac St., Hagerstown, MD. Rev. Mary Norville will officiate.
