Obituary

Charles Edward Pepple, 81, passed away peacefully at Leland of Laurel Run, in Waynesboro, PA, on September 2, 2023. Born on October 6, 1941, he was the son of the late Carl Richard and Viola Mae (Monninger) Pepple in Hagerstown, MD. He now leaves behind a legacy of resilience, laughter, and love.

Charles, known affectionately as Charlie or Butch, was a lifelong tile mechanic. His work ethic was unparalleled, and his commitment to his craft was a testament to his character.

Charles was a man who found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He was a die-hard Redskins fan. He enjoyed taking long walks, exercising, and dancing. He was proud of his 40-year sobriety from alcoholism, a journey that showcased his strength, determination, and resilience. His story serves as an inspiration to all, a reminder that no matter the challenges we face, we have the power to overcome them.

Charles sense of humor was one of his most endearing qualities. He was never afraid to laugh at himself, a trait that brought joy and laughter to those around him. His infectious laughter and jovial spirit will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Above all, Charles was a loving and devoted father and grandfather. His love for his family was evident in every aspect of his life. He is survived by his son, Jeffery Pepple; his daughter, Pamela Nichols; his grandsons, Dylan Nichols, and wife Caitlin, Tyler Nichols, and Austin Pepple; his great-granddaughter, Rhiannon Nichols; and his girlfriend, Patricia Eccard.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Constance Lee Pepple; brothers, Richard Pepple, Carl L. Pepple, and Terry Pepple; and his sister, Mary Ann Middlekauff.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 8, 2023, at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, September 7, 2023, at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m.
