Charles Wilbur Palmer, 81, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away on Sunday, January 8, 2023, at his home.

Born July 28, 1941 in Williamsport, MD, he was the son of the late Bernard and Estella (Spigler) Palmer.

Charles loved his family. He played soccer since high school and was a 10-year men's soccer champion for Maryland. He loved to golf and fish as well.

He is survived by his son, Charles W. Palmer, Jr.; two granddaughters, Jessica Kirby (Tucker) and Erin Brant (Jared); four great-grandchildren, Teagan and Beckham Kirby and Harper and Saylor Brant; three sisters, Sandra Crider, Betty Alexander (Allen), and Nancy Palmer of Myrtle Beach; one brother, Frank T. Palmer (Le Ann); and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert E. Palmer and David B. Palmer.

The funeral will be held at 11am on Friday, January 13, 2023, at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD. Pastor Allen Robinson will officiate. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery.
