Obituary

CHARLES WILLIAM (BILL) MOSER, SR., 77, of 20040 Benevola Church Road, Boonsboro, Maryland, died Wednesday, October 29, 2008 after a sixteen month illness at his home with his family by his side. Born September 24, 1931 in Hagerstown, Maryland, he was the son of the late Lois Kerr and Mary Elizabeth Weddle Moser. He served in the U. S. Navy, during the Korean War. He retired from the State of Maryland Correctional Institute. He attended Trinity Lutheran Church of Boonsboro. Bill's life was surrounded by baseball for three decades by coaching Boonsboro Little League and American Legion Ball for Williamsport Post 211. He umpired for many of those years. He is survived by his wife, Rebecca L. Moser; three sons, Rick Moser and wife, Brenda from Lakeland, Florida, Randy Moser and wife, Michaelann of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, Billy Moser and companion, Lisa Fennel of Boonsboro, Maryland; three daughters, Christina Malcomb and husband, Wetzel of Clear Spring, Maryland, Cindy Hutchinson and husband, Hutch of Boonsboro, Maryland, and Sheri O'Donoghue and husband, John of Eldersburg, Maryland; grandchildren, Ricky Moser and wife, Kristin of Auburndale, Florida, Heather Copeland and husband, Chuck of Lakeland, Florida, Cpl. Chad Moser of U.S.M.C. currently serving in Iraq, and wife, Laura , Corey Moser of Hagerstown, Ashlee Moser of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, Cara Delacruz and husband, Brian of Hedgesville, West Virginia, Brandi Hutchinson of Canada, PFC C. J. Hutchinson of U.S.M.C., currently serving in Twenty-nine Palms, California, Seth Hutchinson of Boonsboro, Maryland, Teri and Holli O'Donoghue of Eldersburg, Maryland; great-grandchildren, Tiffani and Trenton Moser, Tori and Tyler Copeland, all of Lakeland, Florida, and Brooke Moser of Rohrersville, Maryland. He was preceded in death by sister, Delores Moser. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a. m. Monday at the Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Boulevard. Pastor Joseph Donovan will officiate. Burial will be in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery in Myersville, Maryland where graveside military services will be provided by Morris Frock American Legion Post #42. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 6 to 8 p. m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Washington County, 747 Northern Avenue, Hagerstown, Maryland 21742, or Trinity Lutheran Church, 64 South Main Street, Boonsboro, Maryland 21713.
