Obituary

CHARLES ARTHUR (CORNY) LEIDIG, 77, of 322 North Cannon Avenue, Hagerstown, Maryland, died on Sunday, August 20, 2006 at the Washington County Hospital. Born January 20, 1929 in Leitersburg, Maryland, he was the son of the late Arthur L. and Ida Nowell Leidig. He was employed with M. P. Moller for forty-six years, retiring in 1992, and part time with Grand Union. He was a seasonal worker with the City of Hagerstown Parks Department. He was a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ in State Line, Pennsylvania. He was a member of the Amvets Post No. 38, the Williamsport Red Men Lodge No. 84, where he served on the House Committee, and Eagles, Inc. He is survived by his wife of forty-six years, Leslie Stouffer Leidig; three daughters, Debbie DeVardino, Susan Phillips, and Nancy Gill, all of Chester, Pennsylvania; and one brother, Harold Leidig of Worley, Pennsylvania. He was preceded in death by one son, Charles A. Leidig II. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a. m. Thursday at the MINNICH FUNERAL HOME, 415 East Wilson Boulevard, Hagerstown. Rev. Edward Higginbottom will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p. m. A memorial service will be conducted at 7:00 p. m. by the Williamsport Red Men Lodge 84. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Trinity United Church of Christ, P. O.
