Charles Louis Grab, Jr., 72, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away Sunday, April 16, 2023.  Born September 21, 1950, he was the son of the late Elizabeth P. "Sis" (Beckley) and Charles L. Grab, Sr.

He was a 1968 graduate of South Hagerstown High School and received his Master's Degree in Music from Youngstown Ohio.

Charles loved the Lord with all his heart and was very involved with Salem Reformed Church where he was the Minister of Music. He was a member of St. James Brass Quintet, and for 24 years he was the principal trumpeter with the Maryland Symphony Orchestra. He was very devoted to his family, and "Pappy" loved his grandchildren very much.

Charles is survived by his devoted wife of 36 years, Denise Grab; son, Charles Grab III (wife, Sarah); two daughters, Leah Clipp (husband, Jacob) and Grace Skroban (husband, Ian); grandchildren, Sadie Grab, Rylee Clipp, Janson Clipp, and William Skroban; and beloved aunt, Margaret Sprecher.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Annabelle Grab and Isabel Grab; and his brother, Robert Grab.

The family will receive friends at Salem Reformed Church, 13182 Salem Church Road, Hagerstown, MD, from 6 to 8pm on Wednesday, April 19, 2023.

The funeral service will be held at the church on Thursday, April 20, 2023 at 10am with Pastor Eric Cox officiating. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Salem Reformed Church.
