CHARLES HUBERT DAHLHAMER, 80, of 17334 Claymont Drive, Hagerstown, Maryland, died Saturday, May 8, 2010 at the Washington County Hospital. Born May 13, 1929 in Hagerstown, Maryland, he was the son of the late Loyd W. and Mary G. Kershner Dahlhamer. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U. S. Army. Charles was a 1947 graduate of Hagerstown High School. He was employed with Smith Corona Marchant and Hagerstown Cash Register retiring in 1989. He was a member of St. James Brethren Church and the Men's and Women's Bible Class. Charles was a member of the Funkstown American Legion Post #10. He is survived by his wife, of fifty-six years, Gloria Moser Dahlhamer; one daughter, Loren Dahlhamer O'Connor of Lake Worth, FL; one son, James Moser Dahlhamer of Bowie, MD one sister, Louis Merriman of Savannah, GA; one brother, Robert N. Dahlhamer of Hagerstown. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Helen Yazer and Elizabeth Wilson; one brother, George E. Dahlhamer. Services will be Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at St. James Brethren Church, 17718 Lappans Road, St. James, MD. The Rev. Brian H. Moore will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery. Military graveside services will be conducted by the Washington County AMVETS Post #10 and Marine Corps League. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD. Memorial donations may be made to St. James Brethren Church, Building Fund.
