CHARLES (Buddy) LEON ALEXANDER, SR., 71, of Waynesboro, PA, passed away at his home on Wednesday, December 17, 2014. Born December 26, 1942 in Hagerstown, MD, he was the son of the late Clarence Wilmer Alexander and Ruth Janet Smith Alexander Leggett. He served in the U.S. Army. Buddy was the owner of Alexander's Welding. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Iona (Gumpy) Virginia Turner Alexander; two daughters, Chrissy Berger and husband, Manny of Hagerstown, MD, and Fran Stouffer and husband, Kevin of Waynesboro, PA; two sons, Tony Alexander and wife, Angie of Hagerstown, MD, and Bobby Alexander and wife, Sharon of Greencastle, PA; five sisters, Bonnie Williams, Jackie Stotelmyer, Sharon Kay Evans, each of Hagerstown, MD, Cindy Clark of Florida, and Carla Funderburg of Ohio; four brothers, Ralph Brunner, Bobby Alexander, Roger Alexander, and Eddie Alexander all of Hagerstown, MD.; fourteen grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren; and best friend, Richard Martin and wife Lois of Waynesboro, PA. In addition to his parents, Buddy was preceded in death by one son, Charles (Buddy) Alexander, Jr.; one sister, Joanne Clark; and one great grandson, Mason W. Ditch. Services will be held 1:30pm Saturday, December 20, 2014 at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD. Rev. Shelley Graybill will officiate. The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 9pm at the funeral home.
