Champy Soxayaseng, 74, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away Saturday, March 2, 2024, at MedStar Harbor Hospital in Baltimore, just shy of her 75th birthday. Born on March 3, 1949 in Laos, Champy's life was a testament to the power of love and the joy of the natural world.

Champy's spirit resonated in her garden, amid the wilderness, where she joyously foraged for nature's gifts, including mushrooms, wild vegetables, and bamboo. An embodiment of adventure and passion, her legacy is a vibrant mosaic of life's wonders, inspiring us all to find endless joy in the simple pleasures of the earth.

A cherished matriarch, Champy's family was her world. Her husband of 73 years, Nousinh, her sons, Tinglo and Sanam Soxayaseng, her daughter, Thirapha Brewer ("BJ" Leonard), her beloved grandchildren, Nathan Galang, Justin Brewer, Andy Soxayaseng, and Aliya Soxayaseng, and her four great-grandchildren will forever feel the warmth of her love. Her sisters, Maichan of Thailand and Thongkahm of France, though oceans apart, remained close to her heart.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, March 10, 2024, from 12-3pm at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD.
