Cathy Jean Shanholtz, 53 of Hagerstown, MD, passed into her eternal home with the Lord on March 24, 2016. Born March 9, 1963 in Hagerstown, she is the daughter of Robert L. Shanholtz Sr. and the late Beverly Anne (Parlett) Shanholtz. Cathy attended North Hagerstown High School and Hagerstown Junior College. She was employed extensively in the food service industry for most of her life, working for various different employers, including: Fountain Head Country Club, Washington County Hospital and Ravenwood. She was a strong willed person who always fought hard for her convictions. The only battle she could not conquer was her own personal struggle with anorexia. Although this debilitating disease diminished her body, it could not diminish her soul. She overflowed with joy whenever she was near or even spoke of her three grandchildren; Trenton, Emma and Xavier, all of whom she cherished immensely. Besides her father, Cathy is survived by daughter, Autumn N. Kemp and husband, Mike Little of Martinsburg, WV, three brothers, Richard Mowery Jr. of Hagerstown, Samuel Mowery and wife, Tammy of Falling Waters, WV, and Robert Shanholtz Jr. and wife, Carol of Waynesboro, PA, as well as her grandchildren, nieces, nephews and numerous cousins. Besides her mother, she was preceded in death by an infant sister, Francine Lisa Mowery. The family will receive friends for a celebration of life on Thursday, April 14, 2016, from 6:00pm - 7:30pm at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, after which everyone is invited to remain for a brief memorial service officiated by Rev. Robert Robinson of Calvary Temple Church.
