Obituary

CATHERINE JANE STACEY, 69, formerly of Massena, NY, passed away Friday, March 25, 2016, at Ravenwood Nursing home in Hagerstown, MD. Born May 15, 1946 in Potsdam, NY, she was the daughter of the late Nelson Arthur and M. Louine Pernice. Catherine was an elementary school teacher in Massena, NY for 32 years. She enjoyed bowling, concerts at the local parks, doing crossword puzzles, watching Days of Our Lives, and spending time with family. Catherine gave us all a special gift in our hearts to be good people and to love, not hate. She showed us how to be an exceptional person through how we treat those around us including strangers. She was an amazing person and affected many lives through her teaching and helping in many different ways. She did exactly what a person should do in life; she gave all and left it all behind. Catherine is survived by a daughter Andrea Ceci and husband Joseph; four sons, Jonathan Stacey and fianc Lauren, Joseph Stacey, Nick Stacey, and William Stacey and wife Ana; five grandchildren, Mollie, Connor, Paul, Easton, and Henley; two sisters, Heather Maroun, and Nancy Pernice; and a brother, Richard Pernice; In addition to her parents, Catherine was also preceded in death by a sister, Louine Pernice.
