Catherine Elaine Shank Raymer, 87, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away Monday, February 20, 2017 at Meritus Medical Center. Born January 21, 1930 in Williamsport, MD, she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Pauline (Easterday) Wyand. Catherine was a member of Virginia Avenue Church of God. She volunteered at various nursing homes, and she loved to play the piano. She is survived by her husband of 13 years, David Raymer; one son, Rev. David A. Shank and wife, Cindy, of Linthicum, MD; two grandsons, David C. Shank and wife, Rev. Carolyn Shank, of Fulton, MD, and Rev. Jason N. Shank and wife, Rev. Erin Shank, of Hermitage, PA; one great grandson, Gabriel David Shank; one sister, Eleanor Miller and husband, David, of Clear Spring, MD; one brother, John Philip Wyand of Clear Spring, MD; one step-daughter, Susan Haines and husband, Steve, of Hagerstown, MD; one niece, Carol Hyndman; two nephews, Philip and Mickey Wyand; and two loyal friends, Doreen Swisher and Vicki Miller. In addition to her parents, Catherine was preceded in death by husband, Dair Shank; and one brother, Elmer "Simey" Wyand. Services will be held 1pm Thursday, February 23, 2017 at Virginia Avenue Church of God, 17306 Virginia Avenue, Hagerstown, MD. Rev. Dr. A. Paul Harne will officiate. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park in Williamsport, MD.
