CATHERINE MAY (KATIE) PITTS, 94, of Hagerstown, left here for Heaven, Friday, July 17, 2015 from Care Haven Center in Martinsburg, West Virginia. Born at home on Madison Ave., Hagerstown on December 29, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Omar R. and Flora M. Donaldson Slick. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willard William (Bill) Pitts on 1972. She was previously employed with Hagerstown Laundry, Fairchild Aircraft for nineteen years; Washington County Library for eleven years, and her last employment was Goodwill Industries, Hagerstown. She was a member of the Black Rock Bible Church. She is survived by two daughters, Mary C. Phillips of VA and Karen A. Carter of WV; two sons, Ralph A. Lapole of Hagerstown and Gerald Lapole of FL; one step-daughter, Louise Yost of Clear Spring; one sister, Dorothy J. Baker of Hagerstown; twenty grandchildren, twenty-three great grandchildren and thirteen great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Ricky L. Pitts; one step-daughter, Lois Pitts; one step-son, Wayne Pitts; one sister, Mary E. Slick and two brothers, John M. Slick and Charles O. Slick. Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Revs, Robert E. Phillips and Robert E. Phillips, II will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Tuesday at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m.
