Carolyn Louise Vance, 76, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away Saturday, June 10, 2023, at Meritus Medical Center.

Born November 18, 1946 in Hagerstown, MD, she was the daughter of Ms. Naomi Stains and the granddaughter of Ms. Nora Hull.

Carolyn retired from the federal government after more than 25 years of service that included positions at the Department of Commerce in Germantown, the Department of the Army at Fort Ritchie in Cascade, MD, and finally at the Department of Veterans Affairs in Martinsburg, WV. She was a 1964 graduate of South Hagerstown High School.

She is survived by her son, Michael Vance and daughter-in-law, Ellie; daughter, Misha Palladino and son-in-law, Mike; grandchildren, Mike, Miranda, and Dylan Palladino, Amber Vance, Brandon Beall, and Valerie Goodwin. She loved these people with all her heart. She is also survived by her aunt, Joan Bohrer; cousin, Donna Sloper of VA; her favorite in-laws, Lee and Debbie Vance of Williamsport and Rich and Ginny Vance of Hagerstown; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Naomi; her grandmother, Nora; and her former husband, Michael Vance.

A gathering of friends and family will be held on Thursday, June 15, 2023, from 6-8pm at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD.
