Obituary

CAROLYN JANE RUDISILL CARTER, 71, of Hagerstown, Maryland, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, December 13, 2010 at Meritus Medical Center. Born February 24, 1939 in Hagerstown, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Eugene B. and Jane E. Geist Rudisill; Carolyn was a 1957 graduate of North Hagerstown High School. She was a member of North and South Class of 57 Reunion Committee. She retired from Nations Bank, formerly Maryland National Bank, as assistant Vice President after thirty-eight years of service. Carolyn was an active member of Grace United Methodist Church; where she served as church treasurer for over thirty years, was a teacher of the Disciple Sunday School Class; leader of the Friday Morning Bible Study; and a member of the Wednesday night Bible Study Class. She was a member of the Golden Membership Club and served on BOOM (Board of Ordained Ministers) of the United Methodist Church. Carolyn is survived by her husband of fifty-one years, Walter Edward (Nick) Carter; one daughter, Lisa Miller her husband, Mark of Hagerstown, MD; and their children Ashlee Miller and Austin Miller; one son, Brian Carter and his wife, Lyn of State Line, PA; and their children Kierstyn Carter, and Brendan Carter; God daughter, Susan Goff of France; one sister, Nancy Cline and her husband, Gene of Martinsburg, WV; two brothers, Roy Rudisill and his wife, Mak Tal of Inwood, WV and Larry Rudisill and his wife, Phyllis of Indianapolis, IN as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one brother, John Rudisill. Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday at Grace United Methodist Church, 712 West Church Street, Hagerstown, MD. The Rev. Clark D. Carr and the Rev. John Rudisill will officiate. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday at the Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD from 6 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior the service at the church. Memorial donations may be made to Grace United Methodist Church.
