CARMELLA FLORENCE (MEL) ROSER, 80, a resident Julia Manor Health Center and formerly of Guilford Avenue, Hagerstown, Maryland, died Saturday, June 2, 2012 at Meritus Medical Center. Born July 19, 1931 in Barnesboro, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Eva Conner Scalese. She was preceded in death by husband of twenty-three years, Donald W. Roser in 1986. Mel had owned and operated her own Day Care Center for thirty years. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. She is survived by a daughter, Kelli Roser of Hagerstown; a sister, Rose Lamer of Pittsburg, PA; a granddaughter, Ashley Stouffer of Hagerstown and a grandson, Edward Stouffer, Jr. of Hagerstown; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister Virginia Blair; three brothers, Joseph Scalese, Paul Scalese and Anthony Scalese. Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. Pastor Ronald K. Faith will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m.
