Obituary

CARL WILLIAM SPRANKLE, JR., 57, of Hagerstown died Saturday, August 4 at College View Center in Frederick, MD, of C.J.D. Brain Disease. Born August 1, 1950 in Hagerstown, MD he was the son of the late Carl W. Sprankle Sr. and Dorothy J. Near Bennett. He started working at age fourteen in New Jersey where was raised by his step mother, Florence. He proudly and honorably served in the U. S. Army for eleven years. He was previously employed with Letterkenney Army Depot, Dentler Brothers Furniture, Grand Piano, Western Maryland State Hospital and Wiles Cleaners. He delivered newspaper for the Herald-Mail Company. He was a member of New Life Christian Ministry. He is survived by his wife, Cindy Showe Sprankle whom he loved and cherish He was a dedicated father and gave his time to his three children whom he raised in his home Heather Sprankle, Tiffany Sprankle and Bryan Sprankle all of Hagerstown, MD; He is also survived by one daughter, Dimetia Divelbliss of Hagerstown, MD; one step daughter, Renee Wolfe of Hagerstown, MD; two sisters, Carol Sprankle a twin of Phoenix City, AL and Clara Jamison of Hagerstown, MD; two step brothers; eleven grandchildren. Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Boulevard, Hagerstown, MD. Pastor Kenneth Harris will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park. Military honors will be provided at the cemetery by Morris Frock American Legion Post 42. The family will receive friends on Monday at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m.
