C. GLEN COUCHMAN, 96, formerly of Hagerstown, Maryland and Kissimmee, Florida, died on September 10, 2008 in Conyers, Georgia. Born November 8, 1911 in Martinsburg, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Benjamin S. and Jennie Small Couchman. He was preceded in death by his wife of nearly seventy years, Frances Couchman on April 25, 2007. He was employed with Potomac Edison Company for forty-four years. For seventy-five years, he was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church serving as Treasurer, Council Member, and an Usher. He was a former member of the B.P.O.Elks 378, Hagerstown Moose Lodge 212, and the Golf Club of Good Samaritan Village in Kissimmee. He is survived by his daughter, Barbara Hardesty of Madison, Georgia; son, G. Ronald Couchman of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania; and sister, Virginia Lee Kinsey of Williamsport; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Ralph, Harman and John Couchman, and two sisters, Mary Stahl and Sara Knipe. A memorial service will be held at St. John's Lutheran Church on Monday, September 22 at 11:00 a. m. The family will greet friends at the church beginning at 10:00 a. m. until the time of the service.
