Bryan John Murphy, Sr., 30, of Smithsburg, MD, walked in the arms of Jesus on Saturday, September 12, 2026.

Born April 17, 1996, in Hagerstown, MD, he was the son of Patrick David Murphy, and Tonia Maria (Mongan) Thomas (husband, Robert Thomas).

In addition to his parents, Bryan is survived by his beloved son, Bryan Murphy, Jr.; his maternal grandparents, Donald and Donna (Farrow) Mongan; his brothers, Brandon Murphy and his fiancée, Toni, and their children, Charlotte and Rosali, and Brenton Murphy; his sister, Kimberly Robinson; former spouse, Sarah Loveless; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, David John and Thelma Louise Murphy; and three uncles, Jeff Mongan, Tim Murphy, and Mike Murphy.

Bryan was a 2014 graduate of Clear Spring High School.

He was a devoted member of Lifehouse Church and lived his life to the fullest. He was an optimistic and adventurous person, a true jack of all trades. He loved animals and anything with wheels and was an adrenaline junkie who embraced the excitement and adventure of life. Above all, Bryan had a huge heart and loved his son dearly. His faith was an important part of his life, and he had a genuine desire to share the love of Jesus with everyone he met. Bryan had a special way of bringing joy and laughter to those around him, and his kind heart and vibrant spirit touched the lives of so many.

Bryan was dearly loved by his family and friends and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to share in his life.
