Obituary

Brian Lee Gould was born to the late Mr. Samuel Howard Gould, Sr. and Cecelia C. Gould on January 7, 1951, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He grew up and attended public schools in Philadelphia. He played baseball and basketball and had a great love for football. He was a die-hard, win-or-lose, true Washington Redskins fan, and oh, what a love he had for Westerns. Wyatt Earp, Doc Holiday, and John Wayne were some of his true heroes. One of his favorite sayings of Doc Holidays was "Say When!" Brian was also a lover of music, remembering one of his favorite songs "I think Ill color this man Father". After high school, he joined the United States Army, serving from 1968 to 1971. He then went to Texas and spent many years along with a few years in Winston-Salem, North Carolina before returning to Maryland. He joined a construction company, where he worked as a flagger on the road crew; a job he loved doing until the day of his passing from a fatal accident on site. Brian met and fell in love with Judith Lee Watkins and married her on November 12, 2016. Though their years were cut short, they had a full life together. Brian was a wonderful man, so full of life, always having a kind word for others, even a happy tease for kids or a joke for his fellow man. With that great, hardy laugh he had, all the joy he would give so wonderfully and free to all that he met, especially the kids. He loved the children most of all!!! Brian will be greatly missed by many. He is survived by his wife and best friend, Judy L. Gould; son, Charles Watkins; daughter Christina Weaver, five grandchildren with little Kaleea bein the apple of his eye; five siblings, Ryne V. Gould, Annis Miles, Greer Gould, and Joyce Johnson (the late Samuel H. Gould, Jr.); three sisters-in-law, Twanda Taylor, Darla Taylor, and Shauntae Shelton; a life-long friend, Russell Thomas (Bubbie); and a host of nephews, nieces, and friends.
