Brandon John
Rowland
Oct 4, 1993 — Sep 6, 2025
Brandon John Rowland, 31, of Hedgesville, WV passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his family and dogs, on Saturday September 6th, 2025. He was surrounded by so much love at the time of his passing.
Brandon's time on this earth was cut short due to an illness that he didn't ask for and became an involuntary prisoner of. He fought an extremely difficult, challenging, and strong fight. During his time here, he lived his life with courage, humor, and a quiet strength that inspired everyone around him. Even during his hardest days, he never let his cancer define him. He was known for his heart of gold and giving spirit. He always wanted to help where he could, and he always seemed to know the answer to anything and everything. He taught us so much about resilience, kindness, and finding joy even in the smallest of moments.
Brandon was born on a beautiful fall day on Tuesday October 4th, 1993 at Washington County Hospital, to Cherie Rowland and Terry Rowland II. All of the nurses couldn't get over this adorable baby boy with beautiful, blonde hair.
After he graduated from Clear Spring High School in 2011, he joined the United States Air Force as a Combat Mobility Flight Specialist. He was the recipient of several awards and achievements, and found great pride in serving his country. He served from 2011-2017, with four of those years being overseas in Alaska.
Brandon is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Terry Rowland, and his maternal grandfather, Donnie Gendron.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his loving and dedicated wife, through sickness and in health, Holly Rowland, and their two dogs, Poppy and Fiona, his sister Zoey Rowland (Lane) of Clear Spring, his brother, Craig Kennedy of Greencastle, paternal grandmother, Diana Rowland of Hagerstown, maternal grandmother, Nancy Saunders of Clear Spring, father and mother-in-law, Doug and Lisa Lohman of Williamsport, sister-in-law, Lexie Lohman of Martinsburg, several aunts, uncles, and cousins, loyal friends, and one very special niece, whom he loved very much, Olivia Raine. He will be deeply missed by every single person who had the pleasure of knowing him. To know Brandon was to love Brandon.
Per the wishes of Brandon, there will be no viewing or funeral. He wished to be cremated, with his remains mixed with his dogs. There will be a celebration of life at a later date to honor the humble, irreplaceable, and remarkable man that he was.
In remembrance of Brandon, we ask that you live every minute of every day enjoying life to its fullest extent. Embrace the difficult times with courage and strength, celebrate the good, and know that our time on earth is only temporary, so make the most of it.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation at cholangiocarcinoma.org .
There will forever be an empty void that cannot be filled. Brandon was truly one of a kind.
