Bonnie Elaine (Oden) Boone, of Smithsburg, MD passed away on July 8, 2024, at the age of 76 in Hagerstown, MD after a brief illness. She was born on October 6, 1947, in Frederick, MD, to the late Pauline Remsburg Lawson and Donald Leonard Oden Sr.

She married the love of her life Robert M. Boone Jr. on May 28, 1971.

Bonnie's life was one of dedication and service. She was a long-time employee as a custodian for Frederick County Public Schools (FCPS). She took great pride in her work. She eventually retired from First Nationwide/Citi Mortgage.

Her love for travel often took her to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, a place she adored exploring with the love of her life. She loved her hummingbirds and gnomes. Above all, Bonnie's greatest pleasure was the time she spent with her family.

She is survived by her daughter, Dawn Escalante (Ismael), her son, Robby Boone (Melody), and her three cherished grandsons, Robert Escalante, Kylar Boone, and Dakota Boone. Each of them brought immense happiness and purpose to her life. She is also survived by brothers, Donald Oden, Jr. and John Lawson, and sisters, Cindy Spradlin and Alberta Johnson, and many nieces and nephews, and very close friends, Ruth and Bob May.

Bonnie was predeceased by her loving husband of almost 50 years, Robert Boone Jr., and her cherished granddaughter, Savina Escalante. Her parents, sister, Carla Dick, brothers, Rick Oden Sr, Charles Studebaker, Gene Goodsell and Kenneth Studebaker.

A graveside service will be held at 12pm on Friday, July 12, 2024 at Smithburg Cemetery, 78 W. Water Street, Smithsburg, MD. Pastor Allen Robinson will officiate.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8pm on Thursday, July 11, 2024 at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD.
