Bobby Gene Watkins, 85, of Boonsboro, MD, passed away Sunday, April 20, 2025, at his home.

Born February 21, 1940, in Corinth, MS, he was the son of the late Robert and Vada (Wegman) Watkins.

Bobby was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Janet Sue Wakins, who passed away February 22, 2020.

He proudly served as a U.S. Navy air traffic controller for 20 years. Following his military retirement, he continued his dedication to public service as a volunteer firefighter. He played a key role in founding and building a volunteer fire company just outside of Corinth, MS, leaving a lasting impact on his community.

Bobby is survived by his sons, Robert Watkins and wife, Debbie, and Michael Watkins; his daughter, Cassandra Landcaster and husband, Michael; his grandchildren, Joe Dock, Whitney Jackson and husband, Chris, John Watkins, Rebekah Dietrich and husband, Jordan, Ashley Hanlon and husband, Sean; and Kevin Watkins; four great-grandchildren, Nina, Luke, Clay, and Oliver; and two sisters, Peggy Holder and Carolyn Dunn.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Watkins.

A private burial will be held in Arlington National Cemetery.
