It is with a heavy heart that we bid farewell to my mother, Beverly Lu Rae Shuey, fondly known as Ginger, to loved ones and family. Born on June 1, 1953, in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, Bev was called home to our Heavenly Father on October 25, 2023, in Hagerstown, Maryland.

Bev was a beacon of love, kindness, and faith. Bev was married to my father, Frank Shuey, for over 45 years. In those years, through many ups and downs, their love and commitment to each other stayed true. Bev was a dedicated employee of Dr. Johns, Dr. Porac, and Dr.Bachtell's Dental Office and retired after 36 years of service. Bev truly enjoyed her profession and her co-workers, many of whom became close lifelong friends. As children, my brother, sister, and I enjoyed hearing the stories of my mother's day at the dental office. We had many laughs and good times. The greatest loves of my mother's life were her children, Frank, Christoher, and Jonnette; her grandchildren, Caleb and Kaisley; and her daughter-in-law, Naomi. The love my mother has given us is the definition of unconditional love.

Bev moved through life with kindness and generosity that radiated warmth and comfort to those fortunate enough to cross her path. She always expressed the importance of giving back to our community. My mother made sure that we volunteered at our church and the local food bank as a family. She also found the time to help with the local free dental clinic. She displayed morals and values that this world so badly needs. Bev will be missed by many.

In her battle against cancer, Bev demonstrated incredible courage and resilience. Her faith remained steadfast, her spirit unbroken. She faced her trials with grace.

As we say our earthly goodbyes, we take comfort in the knowledge that Bev is now in the loving arms of our Heavenly Father, free from pain and suffering. Her spirit will forever live on in our hearts. Until we meet again, rest in peace, mom.

Bev's Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held at El Shaddai, 206 E 4th St., Frederick, MD 21701, on November 12th from 3 to 6 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, Bev's wish was for her family and friends to make donations to C.A.R.P.
