Obituary

Beverly Ann (Nutter) Anderson, 83, formerly of Hagerstown, Maryland, entered her eternal home in heaven on Sunday, February 26, 2023, at Sterling Care South Mountain, Boonsboro, Maryland, surrounded by her loving daughters after a long journey with Alzheimer's Disease.

She was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, the love of her life, Raymond L. Anderson (Andy), on June 4, 2021. They were married March 25, 1967, in Hagerstown, Maryland.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her granddaughter Lindsey Erin Leasure, sister-in-law Mary Nutter, and brother-in-law Larry Richesson.

Born at home on March 25, 1939, in Hagerstown, Maryland, she was the second child and daughter of the late William "Bill" F. Nutter and Madeline U. (Butts) Nutter.

Our Mom, Beverly, was an affectionate and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by her six children, Kimberly Leasure (Mark), St. James, MD, Jamie Fleming (David) Hagerstown, MD, Jim Brown (Anne), New Paris, IN, Joni Metcalf, (Ross) Murrells Inlet, SC, Ray Anderson (Dawn), Washington Court House, OH, and Jeff Anderson, Hagerstown, MD, and her Grandchildren, Ben, Andrew, Allison, Samantha, Jennifer, Lauren, Ryan, Megan, Josh, Hannah, Isaiah, Kirsti, Zach, Alexa and Emma and twenty great-grandchildren.

She is also survived by her sisters Wilma Beauchamp, Clear Spring, MD, Linda Richesson, Hagerstown, and brothers William "Bill" Nutter, Hagerstown and Tim Nutter, Hagerstown.

Also known affectionally as Bev, she was a member of the 1957 Hagerstown High School Class. She had several jobs throughout her lifetime but her passion and devotion remained to her family, faith and serving others. Mom loved the Lord and accepted him as her Savior in 1968. She taught Sunday School, along with her husband Andy, when their children were young. She represented an internal strength and confidence and had an unrelenting hope and optimism that things, no matter how uncertain, would in time work out for one's good and favor. This stemmed from her faith in God.

She had a gift for all things fun and spontaneous, was always for the underdog, very creative, and artistic. And always the optimist, Mom was our biggest cheerleader and encourager. She enjoyed life to the fullest and loved holidays, especially Christmas, when family would gather at her house. She was a compassionate woman and had an empathetic and generous heart. If you met her, you would never forget her.

When she walked into the room, it lit up and she was the life of the party. In fact, in 1954, she was voted first "Fun Night Queen" of Washington School.

Mom will be greatly missed but we are at peace knowing that she is no longer suffering here on earth and that she is rejoicing (and probably dancing) in heaven with her loved ones.

The family will receive friends for visitation from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, Mar. 3, 2023, and a Celebration of Life on Sat., Mar. 4, 2023, at 11 a.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, Maryland. Interment will follow at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown, Maryland.

The Family would like to thank the wonderful staff of Hospice of Washington County, especially Pam and Lori, and Sterling South Mountain Care, Manor Floor Staff, for their loving care for our Mom.

Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
