Obituary

BETTY JANE HOSE, 84, of Hagerstown, Md., passed away Sunday, November 10, 2013 at Ravenwood Lutheran Village. Born July 5, 1929 in Lemoyne, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Eli Samuel and Mabel Kathern Heffelfinger Kuhn. Her foster parents, Gladys and William Floyd Rowe, raised over a hundred siblings. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Lee Hose who died May 3, 1991. She was a music lover, being a musician herself, as well as writing many gospel songs and having a few published. She loved taking care of sick people and cooking for the dances at the Potomac Towers. Betty enjoyed coloring pictures and distributing them to others. She loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren. She was a member of Miller's Tabernacle and was of the Pentecostal faith. She is survived by a son, William Floyd Hose and wife Brenda of Hedgesville, West Va.; two daughters, Darlene Ramsey of Hagerstown and Kathy Turvin of Smithsburg; 12 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren; a brother, William Kuhn of Hondo, Texas; and two best friends, Skip and Jack. She was preceded in death by her foster parents, William Floyd and Gladys Rowe, 2 sons-in-law, Steven Ramsey, Sr. and Jim Turvin; an infant son, Walter Hose; grandchildren, Joey, Jeff and Cindy; 2 brothers, Eli Kuhn, Jr. and James Kuhn; and 2 sisters, Ellen Reese and Helen Kuhn. Funeral services will be Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. Pastor Kevin Smoot will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and 1 hour prior to the service on Friday.
