BETTY JANE GRIFFITH, 81, of 11 West Baltimore Street, Hagerstown, Maryland, died Friday, November 15, 2013 at Meritus Medical Center. Born December 8, 1931, in Hagerstown, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Beatrice Miller Griffith. Betty retired from Kresge's after thirty years of service and six years at McCroy's. Betty was a very loving Gramma. She is survived by a son, Robert K. Bowers, Jr. and wife, Lisa of Bedington, WV; two sisters, Harriet Saunders of Sarasota, FL and Brenda Griffith Jones of Halfway, MD; two brothers, Charles E. Griffith of Halfway, MD and Harry A. Griffith, Jr. of Hagerstown, MD; two grandchildren, Kelsey Bowers of Bedington, WV and Tara Kline and husband, Kevin of Hedgesville, WV; two great granddaughters, Ashlynn Kline and Sophia Kline; a special niece, Vicki Reuter of St. Petersburg, FL and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her step-mother, Teresa Griffith and a sister, Francis I. Henry. There will be no viewing or visitation.
