BETTY JANE ECKSTINE, 79, of Hagerstown, Maryland, died on Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at the Williamsport Nursing Home in Williamsport, Maryland. Born May 8, 1933, on the family farm at Huyetts Crossroads, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Walter Perry and Mary Pearl Harsh Beckley. She was a member of St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church and Women of the Church. She was a member of Dry Run Homemakers, a charter member of Wacohu Grange and served a term with the Southern States Home Advisory Board. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, John Edward Eckstine; one daughter, Linda Sue Mireles of Victorville, California; one son, John Edward Eckstine, Jr. of Hagerstown; two sisters, Ruth Joanne Saunders and Margaret Sprecher; two grandchildren, Natasha Paxia and Evin Swaim and two great-grandchildren, Savanah Paxia and Noah Paxia. She was preceded in death by four sisters, Mary Plank, Elizabeth Grab, Edith Seibert, and Genevieve Schnebly; and three brothers, Walter Beckley, Jr., Elmer Beckley and Paul Beckley. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, at St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 30 South Martin Street, Clear Spring, Maryland. The Rev. Elaine Swinehart and Rev. Steve Wagoner will officiate. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park in Williamsport. Family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E.
