Betty Eleanora Cantner, 79, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away Sunday, October 18, 2020, at her home. Born December 1, 1940 in Hagerstown, MD, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Nora (Jones) Gettel. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Junior Cantner, on June 10, 2003. She is survived by her daughter, Michelle Rupp (Shawn); her son, Jay Cantner (Susan Dewease); her grandchildren, Kristy Dewease, Nicholas Cantner, and Alec Cantner; a special nephew who took exceptional care of her, Ron Patton; and several other nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Betty was preceded in death by her son, Jeffrey Lynn Cantner; three sisters, Mary Jane Smith, Ethel Goetz, and Virginia Fratrick; and six brothers, Ronald Gettel, Donald Gettel, Harry Gettel, Floyd Gettel, John Gettel, Sr., and Bruce Gettel, Sr. A private graveside service will be held.
