Bessie Irene Ayers, 87, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away Friday, January 20, 2017 at C.J.'s Senior Care Assisted Living. Born April 6, 1929 in Big Pool, MD, she was the daughter of the late William and Virginia (Shifflet) Murray. Bessie was preceded in death by her husband, Ballard Ayers, Jr. She attended Calvary Temple. She is survived by two sons, Daniel Ayers of Hagerstown, and William Swisher of FL; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Bessie was preceded in death by her daughter, Debbie Long; and sister, Violet Lowe. Services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 26, 2017 at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD. Rev. Robert Robinson will officiate.
