Obituary

BARRY WYNN MCALLISTER, 56, of 14521 National Pike, Clear Spring, Maryland, died on Saturday, February 25, 2006 at the Frederick Memorial Hospital in Frederick, Maryland. Born November 28, 1949 in Hagerstown, Maryland, he was the son of Leon and Lorraine Gordon McAllister of Hagerstown. He graduated from North Hagerstown High School in 1967. Barry was employed with Mack Truck, Inc. for nineteen years. After, he was a successful and respected antiques dealer. He was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Washington Square. He was a member of the National Rifle Association, the Republican National Committee, and was a supporter of St. Jude's Children's Hospital. Barry loved animals and had planned to open a petting zoo. He loved to hunt, and raced at Mason Dixon Dragway in the 1970's. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife of 27 years, Lisa Gibney McAllister; one sister, Mitzi Thomas, and brother-in-law, Steve Thomas, of Pine Hill, New York; one brother, Brian McAllister of Hagerstown; one niece, Sarah McAllister of Hagerstown; and one nephew, Aaron Thomas of Pine Hill, New York. A celebration of Barry's life will be held on Thursday at 11:00 a. m. at the McAllister's Residence in Clearspring. Rev. Charles Mackley will officiate. The family will receive friends at the McAllister residence, 14521 Old National Pike, Clearspring, Maryland from 2 to 8 p. m. Memorial donations may be made to ALSAC/St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 in memory of Barry W. McAllister.
