Barry Lee Lautenslager, 87 of Myrtle Beach, SC passed away Sunday, September 27, 2026, at Grand Strand Medical Center.

Born August 11, 1939, in Chambersburg, PA he was the son of the late George Thomas and Grace Annie (Wood) Lautenslager.

Barry was a 1957 graduate of Chambersburg High School and proudly served in the U.S. Air Force. Throughout his working years he held a variety of positions including carpentry work in Chambersburg and later became employed with Halls Motor and FedEx Ground where he worked for 25 years. He also generously gave his time as a volunteer at the Chambersburg YMCA.

Barry was a member of the Amvets, American Legion 42, and a longtime member with Emmanuel United Methodist Church in Hagerstown MD

In addition to his parents, Barry was proceeded in death by his beloved wife Barbara Ellen (Lohr) Lautenslager and their son Brian Lee Lautenslager (BOOMER) and daughter in law Christy Lautenslager.

He is survived by his daughter Becky Lyn Payne and Son in Law Doug Payne and three grandchildren Bryan Payne, Brandon Payne, Bri Payne. Several great grandchildren, and many nephews and nieces.

The funeral service will be held at 1:00pm on Monday October 12, 2026, at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd, Hagerstown MD. Rev Randy Reid will officiate. The family will receive friends 90 mins prior to the service. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery.
