BARRY MARVIN COHEN, M.D., 70, OF 12908 Little Hayden Circle, Hagerstown, Maryland, died on Thursday, October 16, 2008 at Somerford Assisted Living. Born August 28, 1938 in Baltimore, Maryland, he was the son of the late Archie and Esther Frank Cohen. He was preceded in death by his wife, R. Patricia Cohen on December 16, 2007. He served in the U. S. Army. He graduated from Mercersburg Academy in 1956, Duke University in 1960, and the University of Maryland School of Medicine in 1964. He practiced internal medicine for thirty-eight years. He was a member of the Longmeadow Church of the Brethren. He is survived by two daughters, Gretchen Solender of Urbana, Maryland, and Pamela Shank of Williamsport, Maryland; four sons, James Healey of Laurel, Maryland, and Philip Healey, Jeffrey Cohen, and Daniel Cohen, all of Hagerstown; and eleven grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a. m. Monday at the Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Boulevard. Pastor Paul N. Leatherman will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 6 to 9 p. m.
