BARBARA WINTER, 68, of 164 Vision Lane, Falling Waters, West Virginia, died on Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at her home. Born June 4, 1943 in Slough, England, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Ethel Ryden Gurney. She was co-owner, for eighteen years, of Bingo Island in Hagerstown. She was Assistant Manager, for ten years, at K-Mart in Hagerstown. She was an animal lover. She is survived by her husband of forty-eight years, James R. Winter; one sister, Valerie Orr, and husband, Thomas, of South Carolina; one niece, Lauren Skipp of Hagerstown; one nephew, Stephen Skipp of Hagerstown; several nieces and nephews in England; brother-in-law, Steve Skipp of Hagerstown. She was preceded in death by one son, David L. Winter; one sister, Marion Skipp; and one brother, Gordon Gurney of England. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a. m. Saturday at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Boulevard, Hagerstown. Pastor Shane Wilt, Sr. of West End Baptist Chapel will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 7 to 9 p. m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Humane Society of Washington County, 13011 Maugansville Road, P.
