It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Barbara (Bobbi) Sword. She passed away on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at Doey's House.

Born August 19, 1949 in Hagerstown, MD, Bobbi was the daughter of the late Robert M. and Betty Jean (Taylor) Baker.

Bobbi graduated as a salutatorian from North Hagerstown High School, where she attended from 1964-1967. Bobbi belonged to many clubs, but excelled in drama club. After graduation, Bobbi left for Manhattan to pursue her passion in modeling, acting, and commercial voiceovers, in which she was very successful.

Bobbi came back to Hagerstown to care for her mother whose health was failing. She enjoyed working with her husband at the Corner Pub. Bobbi looked forward to working at The Pub, where she would regularly socialize with her friends and patrons.

Tremendous and heartfelt thanks to the truly exceptional staff at Meritus Medical Center and Hospice of Washington County. Both organizations provided the very best nursing care.

Bobbi is survived by her husband of 24 years, Darryl Sword. Bobbi is also survived by two brothers, Mr. James Baker and his wife, Joyce, and Mr. Todd Miller.

She was very proud of her Catholic faith. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:15am on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Father James Boric will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery following the Mass.

The family will receive friends at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD, on Monday, February 3, 2025, from 6-8pm.
