Barbara Jean Hose, 92, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, at Julia Manor.

Born August 20, 1931, in Martinsburg, WV, she was the daughter of the late William Henry Weakley, Jr. and Julia Beatrice (McDorman) Weakley.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence "Larry" A. Hose, Jr.

From the age of four, Barbara was raised by her grandparents, William Henry Weakley, Sr. and Lula Belle (Gallehugh) Weakley. She was a 1949 graduate of Martinsburg High School in WV. She was employed as a bookkeeper and secretary and was a former co-owner of Autorama, Inc. and the Big Dipper Drive Inn. She was a member of First Christian Church, The Women's Club and Oak Ridge Garden Club. In her younger years, she enjoyed bus trips and traveling. She spent many winters in Ajo, AZ, with her brother and sister.

Barbara is survived by her daughter, Terri Magaha and husband, Steve; her son, Curtis Lawrence and wife, Rebecca; two grandchildren, Christopher McAllister and wife, Aimee and Nathaniel C. Lawrence; five great-grandchildren, Camden, Madeleine, Skyler, Tommy and Bella; and two nieces, Julie Bell of Wake Forest, NC, and Michelle Mack of Jackson, MS.

In addition to her parents and husband, Barbara was preceded in death by her sister, Patricia Ann Weakley Clunan, and her brother, Jack Eugene Weakley.

Her family was her life, and she will be greatly missed by them.

The funeral will be held at 11am on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at First Christian Church, 1345 Potomac Ave., Hagerstown, MD. Rev. Dr. James R. Brooks will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
