Barbara Marie Fitzgerald, 80, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away on Thursday, September 10, 2020. She was born on December 11, 1939 to the late Woodrow Russell Morris and Lelia Shank Shanholtz. Barbara will be remembered for the love she had for her children and family, living to know God more, serving others, and her passion for attending The Salvation Army and the many years she volunteered there. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Woodrow Russell Morris II and Robert Morris. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Earl Fitzgerald Sr., her son, Earl Fitzgerald Jr. and his wife, Janice, her daughters, Marilyn Hamby and her husband, Brian, and Barbara Wiggington, eleven grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren, her sisters, Sonya Meldron and Scarlett "Cathy" Koontz and her husband, Skip, and many nieces and nephews. Family and friends are welcomed for a visitation on Tuesday, September 15, 2020 from 6:00pm - 8:00pm at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Boulevard in Hagerstown. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at 9:00am at the funeral home. Captain Jimmy Taylor of The Salvation Army will officiate.
