Barbara Jane Evans, 80, of Williamsport, Maryland, passed away peacefully on July 2, 2026, surrounded by her family.

Born on October 7, 1945, in Hagerstown, Maryland, Barbara was the daughter of the late Samuel Webster Piper Sr. and Susan Jane (Tracy) Piper. She graduated from South Hagerstown High School in 1963 and spent much of her life devoted to her family and to creating a loving home.

Barbara found great joy in being a homemaker. While raising her family, she also worked PT at SHHS, the Williamsport Tannery, and Sam's Club. She especially loved caring for children as a childcare provider for close family and friends. The children she cared for cherished her gentle spirit and warm smile, and she was like a second grandmother to many of them.

Barbara was preceded in death by her siblings, Henry Piper Sr, Nancy Robinson, and Samuel Webster Piper Jr., and her son’s wife, Sheri (Woods) Evans.

She is survived by her loving children, Brian K. Evans (Lisa) and Kari D. Rager (Paul); her grandchildren, Clay Seibert, Alexis Evans (Tyler) and Nicholas Evans (Bree) and her great-granddaughter, Remy Walling, who brought her much happiness. She is also survived by her sisters, Susan Piper Cox and Patsy Madden, along with several nieces and nephews.

Barbara will be remembered for her selfless nature, her unwavering love for her family, and the comfort she brought to those around her. Her kindness and unconditional love will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.

Funeral arrangements and a celebration of Barbara's life will be announced by the family.
