Barbara Jane Crew, 86, daughter of Maria Crew and Napoleon Thomas was born on February 27, 1937 in Columbus, OH. In the early afternoon on June 8, 2023, she left quietly for her heavenly home.

She attended and graduated as valedictorian of North Street High School, Class of 1945.

She was employed by Ormond Dress Shop for over 20 years and went on to work for Western Maryland Hospital before retiring.

Barbara loved her church and church family and was a dedicated member of Greater Campher Temple, where she was Mother of the Church. She loved and enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren very much. She enjoyed traveling and visiting her friends and loved to go shopping and eating at different restaurants.

Preceding her in death were her Grandparents, Jane and Frank Crew; Mother, Maria Crew; Father, Napoleon Thomas; and Daughter, Cecile Sloan.

Barbara will forever be cherished and missed by her Son, Stephen Crew and Wanda; Grandchildren, Traci Crew and Theodore Crew; 3 Great-Grandchildren, Raelyn Crew, Porter Baker IV, and Mia Crew; 3 Sisters, Shirley Thomas, Lisa Thomas-Wade, and Deborah Thomas; and 3 Brothers, Layton, Ronald, and Donnis Ashby.

Services will be held at Greater Campher Temple, 125 West Bethel Street, Hagerstown, MD 21740 on Friday, June 16, 2023. The viewing will be held from 10-11am with the funeral service following at 11am.

The family would like to give thanks to the Intensive Care Unit at Meritus Medical Center for all their help and care.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Greater Campher Temple in Barbara's honor.
