Barbara Jean Churchey, 90, of Hagerstown, passed away, Saturday morning, July 25, 2026 at Julia Manor Nursing Home.

Born January 17, 1936 in Washington Co., MD, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Hazel (Obitts) Thomas.

Barbara attended Virginia Avenue Church of God and was a member of the Moose Lodge Ladies Auxiliary. She was known for her genuinely happy spirit, warm smile, and love of dancing, bringing joy to those around her.

In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded by her husband, John Churchey, Jr. in 2017.

Surviving are two sons, Richard and Kevin Churchey; two daughters, Carolyn Kline and Nora Line (John); six grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.

Family and friends are invited to a viewing Thursday, July 30, 2026, from 6-8 pm at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD.

Funeral services are 1pm Friday, July 31, 2026, at the funeral home with Rev. Shawn Bushman officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery.
