Arlene "Deanie" Moser, 91, formerly of Hagerstown, Maryland, passed away on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at Pearls of Life at Liberty Ridge in Lynchburg, Virginia. She was the wife of Alvey C. Moser.

"Deanie" was born on August 11, 1934 to the late Richard Rhodes and Emma Gibbons Rhodes.

She attended Bethel United Methodist Church in Chewsville, MD, until she and Alvey moved to Lynchburg, Virginia, in January of 2025.

Deanie grew up in Funkstown, Maryland, and graduated from Hagerstown High School in 1952. She and Alvey married July 15, 1953 and recently celebrated 72 years of marriage.

As a homemaker, Deanie served in many capacities, Washington County Hospital volunteer, Sunday School teacher, choir member, Cub Scout and Brownie Girl Scout leader, school volunteer. She also enjoyed gardening and reading, taking bus trips with friends, and researching family genealogy with Alvey. She is known for her sewing skills, especially her beautiful pieced quilts, and also clothing for family, wedding dresses, doll clothes, cheerleader outfits, and home décor items.

Deanie is survived by her husband, Alvey. She is also survived by her son, Scott Moser (Nadene) of Murrells Inlet, SC, and daughter, Terri Harne (Richard) of Forest, Virginia.

Deanie loved spending time with all of her grandchildren. They have five grandchildren, Gregory Moser, Christopher Moser (Traci), Kellan Harne Hogye (Mike), Garren Harne (Lindsay), Ryan Harne (Yulia). Eleven great-grandchildren include Ella Moser, Jude Moser, Blaize Moser, Landon Moser, Camden Moser, Everly Moser, Michael Hogye, Rowan Hogye, Brayden Harne, Evan Harne, and Ruby Harne. She is also survived by a sister, Kathryn Rohrer (Gerald), and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Deanie was preceded in death by her sisters, Patricia Frush, Delores Warner, and Helene Rhodes.

The funeral will be held at 11am on Monday, August 25, 2025, at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD. Pastor Jim Johnson will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.
