Arlene Virginia Dotter Boggs, 86, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away on Thursday, February 16, 2023. She was born on March 18, 1936 to the late William Thomas Showe and Laura Kridler Showe Wolf.

Arlene was a graduate of Hagerstown High School. She worked as a secretary until her retirement, notably taking her first job with the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Washington D.C., followed by positions with Fairchild Aircraft, the Washington County Board of Education, the Pangborn Corporation, and various other secretarial jobs in Hagerstown until her retirement. She was also a dedicated, longtime member of Hagerstown V.F.W. and the Funkstown American Legion Post 211, where she served in various positions over the years. Arlene loved sports and enjoyed being outside fishing, swimming, and gardening. She especially enjoyed eating hardshell crabs. Arlene and her family were members of the Potomac Fish and Game Club.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Kenneth A. Dotter Jr., her second husband, Graham Boggs, her sisters, Phyllis Metz and Mary Walters, and her brother, William "Bubby" Showe Jr.

She is survived by her sons, Kenneth A. Dotter III and his partner, Doug Crowe, and Donald E. Dotter and his long-time partner and caregiver, Chiyori Filion, and many nieces and nephews.
