Arlee Elaine Skoog, 92, devoted wife and mother, passed away on Wednesday, December 21, 2022. She was born on February 9, 1930 and was the daughter of the late Harry C. Weber and Georgia Gossard Weber of Hagerstown, MD.

Elaine was a natural born leader in her professional and private life. She retired from Bell Atlantic with 37 years of service and loved the work she did for that company. She was an avid volunteer and spent much of her free time helping others in the community. Of note, she volunteered at Lincolnshire Elementary School for 18 years, the Community Free Clinic, the Food Bank, and the Western Maryland Sate Hospital.

Additionally, Elaine was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America, a Golden Member of Grace United Methodist Church/Grace Class, and a member of the Soroptimists International of Hagerstown; of which she served as chapter President. Elaine spent much of her non-volunteer time reading novels and traveling both here and in Europe.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James B. Skoog (1989), her daughter, Linda J. Rinker (2021), her brother, Theodore Weber (2021), and her sister, Bettie Frock (2016).

She is survived by her four nieces and two nephews.

Family and friends are welcomed for funeral service on Friday, December 30, 2022 at 11:00am at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Boulevard in Hagerstown.

Interment will take place at Rose Hill Cemetery in Hagerstown.
