Obituary

Arleane Elaine Gatrell, 72, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at Meritus Medical Center.

Born on March 20, 1954, in Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Sheldon Eugene Williams and Arleane Nellie (Baker) Williams.

Arleane was employed by Dunkin' Donuts and had previously worked at The Venice Inn and Mama's Restaurant. Throughout the years, she was known for her strong work ethic and dedication to serving others.

She is survived by her three sons, Anthony Gatrell, Dale Gatrell, and Clyde "Gene" Gatrell; fourteen grandchildren, Gene, Courtney, Trey, Gabby, Alizia, Jessica, Toni, Gloria, Wyatt, Cortez, Ambria, Katelyn, Kayla, and Kaiden; and two brothers, John Williams and Robert Williams.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Dixie Smith; and five brothers, David Williams, Terry Williams, Earl Williams, Larry Williams, and Donnie Williams.

Family and friends will be received at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD, on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park. Pastor Allen Robinson will officiate.
