ARBANNA SUSAN MCGOWAN, 88, of Hagerstown, Maryland, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at Meritus Medical Center. Born May 4, 1924, in Sharpsburg, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Howard David and Bessie Katherine Hutson Gross. She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-four years, Charles E. McGowan in April 2005. They lived on Pope Ave. in Hagerstown for sixty-six years. She had been employed at Corning Glass and Two Guys, before retiring. Arbanna loved bowling on the senior leagues for both fall and summer. She loved playing 500 rummy every week with her daughter, Faye and son, Charles and wife Connie. Survivors include daughter, Faye Myers of Hagerstown; son, Charles McGowan, and wife Connie, of Hagerstown; grandchildren, Charles McGowan, and wife Wendy of Smithsburg, Maryland, Michelle Staley, and husband Joey, of Hagerstown, LaDonna Wenk, and husband Rob, of Greencastle, Pennsylvania; great-grandchildren, Candace Winters, and husband Ethan, of Hagerstown, Shawne McGowan, and friend Jordon, of Smithsburg, Maryland, Joey Staley, and Britney, of Hagerstown, and little Ray Wenk of Greencastle. She was preceded in death by two brothers Glenn and, Gerald Gross; and a grandson, Richard Lane McGowan. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p. m. Saturday, August 11, 2012 at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Boulevard, Hagerstown. The Rev. James R. Stauffer will officiate. Interment will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 6 to 8 p. m.
