ANNIE CATHERINE SMITH, 99 formerly of 13407 Greensburg Road, Smithsburg, Maryland, died on Sunday, February 25, 2007 at NMS of Hagerstown. Born February 17, 1908 in Hagerstown, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin Franklin and Bessie Virginia Thomas Hoover. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert F. Smith who died July 5, 1994. They had been married for 67 ½ years. She was a member of Christ's Reformed Church for 83 years. She was formerly employed with the Hagerstown Shoe Company. She was a member of the Dahlia Society of Hagerstown. She is survived by a daughter, Joan L. Taber of Greensburg, Maryland; two sons, Ronald F. Smith of Smithsburg and Edwin E. Smith of Fayetteville, Georgia; a brother, Raymond E. Hoover of Largo, Florida; four grandchildren and two step grandchildren; two great grand children; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Lillian Hoover and three brothers, Elmer Hoover, Earl Hoover and Oliver Hoover and one grandson Timothy W. Anderson. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday at the MINNICH FUNERAL HOME, 415 East Wilson Blvd. The Rev. Don R. Stevenson will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
