ANNA MAE BARBER, 85, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at Carroll Hospice Dove House in Westminster, MD. Born May 10, 1929, she was the daughter of the late George and Catherine Brunner Howard. Anna was employed as a legal secretary, living in several areas including Chicago and Pittsburgh before moving back to Hagerstown. Anna was a lifetime member of American Legion Auxiliary Funkstown #211. She formerly attended the Church of the Holy Trinity. Anna is survived by two sons, George Barber and Richard Timothy "Tim" Barber; one step-son, James Barber; four grandchildren, Hannah Barber, David Barber, Brian Barber, and William H. Barber III; and numerous great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, William Henry Barber; two step-sons, William Barber II and Daniel Barber; three brothers, George Howard, Warren Howard and Richard Howard; and one step-sister, Mary Carr. Services will be held 1pm, Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2014 at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD. The Rev. Marilyn Washburn will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.
