ANN ELEANOR THOMAS, 87, of Boonsboro, MD and formerly a resident of Hagerstown, MD for seventeen years, passed away Sunday, December 18, 2016 at Charlotte's Home Inc. in Boonsboro, MD. Born June 18, 1929, in Washington County, MD, she was the daughter of the late Guy Nelson and Louisianna Mae Mowen Gordon. Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Thomas. She was employed as director of the Senior Citizen Center in Haltom City, TX for twenty years. She attended the Virginia Avenue Baptist Church and Emmanuel Baptist Temple. Ann is survived by two sons, Pastor Raymond Barger Jr. and wife, Cynthia and David Allen Barger; one brother, David Gordon; five grandchildren, Heather Reese and husband, Michael, Holly Weaver and husband, Chris, Heidi Poe and husband, David, Hilary Cooper and husband, Bill, and Brittany Connolly and husband, Sean; six great grandchildren. Tyler, Evan and Colby Reese, Lilly and Gracey Poe, and Kaden Connolly; and her first husband Raymond Barger Sr. She was preceded in death by one sister, Ethel Creighton and two brothers, Richard Gordon and John Gordon. Services will be held at 1:00 Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. Pastor William Cooper will officiate. Burial will be in Broadfording Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
