Ann Marie Ernst, 55, of Cumberland, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at UPMC Western Maryland Hospital.

Born March 30, 1970, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late John Gilbert Ernst Jr. and Terry Mae (Kriner) Ernst.

Ann is survived by her loving family — two sisters, Gina Walker and Debbie Keckler, and one brother, Gary Ernst.

Ann was a proud graduate of the Marshall Street Job Development Center in Hagerstown, Maryland. She was a very dedicated employee and also participated in the Special Olympics, where her spirit and enthusiasm touched the lives of everyone around her.

Since 2007, Ann made her home with Unified Community Connections, where she was surrounded by caring staff and friends who became like family. She loved spending time in the community, going on outings, and building special relationships with those who supported her. Her warm heart, laughter, and kind presence will always be remembered by those whose lives she brightened.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, November 6, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, Maryland.

Ann will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her joyful spirit, love of life, and the beautiful impact she had on everyone who knew her.
